Son of the late Mrs Susan Mitchell (formerly Beszant, née Hillier). Born at Ryde, Isle of Wight, in 1892. His father Thomas Valentine Beszant died in 1894. In 1901 the family were in Bromley, Kent.
Mrs Susan Beszant married Charles Mitchell in 1902. Wilfred Beszant is commemorated by an Additional inscription

service number 154010, was a Chief Petty Officer 1st Class on HMS Cressy when he died on Sept 22nd 1914, body not recovered.
His name is on panel 1 of the Royal Navy Chatham War Memorial.
His son Leonard Percy Parker (CWGC record) died in WW II and is named
on the WW II panels at Ryde Town Hall.
