Son of : John Chamberlain Hartnall and Isabella Hartnall (née Parnell) of Ryde.

Married : 1902, Katherine Sophia Jackman, at Holy Trinity Church, Ryde.

Children : James Inglis Hartnall (born in Leicester in 1904), and Isabel Mary Hartnall (born in Ryde in 1907).
