Among the officers fallen in action has to be numbered Second Lieut. R.P. Dashwood, of the Rifle Brigade, second son of Mr. Alf. Dashwood, formerly of Ryde, and now Registrar of the Southampton County Court. Deceased was shot by a sniper while gallantly leading his men in charging the enemy on the 7th inst.
