LOCAL WAR NEWS
Mrs. E. Wolfe, Fern Glen, Arthur Street, has received official news that her son Corpl. F. Wolfe, reported missing since the battle of Gaza, April 19th, 1917, is now reported killed on that date. Corpl. Frank Wolfe joined the I.W. Rifles on January 1915, and left England three years ago this month, for the Dardenelles and was, with the Regiment all through the fighting at Gallipoli, going from there to Egypt and Palestine. His brother Lance-Corpl. W. Wolfe, formerly a Ryde postman, died of wounds received in the same battle. Much sympathy is felt with the bereaved family.
