  Further Information

"Soldiers Died in the Great War" gives his residence as Banstead, Surrey. Private Jesse Barnes entered active service on 10 August 1915 in the Balkans theatre of war indicating that he served at Gallipoli. He was killed in action near Jerusalem.

Note that Richard John Ballard is shown with the same date of death, and in an adjacent grave at Jerusalem Cemetery.
