Ventnor Heritage Centre, Ventnor, Isle of Wight IWM War Memorials Archive Record Link : War Memorials Archive Reference 40857 Description Wooden triptych, which carries names of members of the Independent Order of Rechabites, a friendly / temperance society, who died in the Great War. The outer panels of the triptych bear names of office holders of the Order. Originally located in the Ventnor office of the Order, the memorial was later located in the offices in St Thomas Square in Newport, and was subsequently acquired by an antique shop in Cowes. The Memorial was 'rescued' from the antique shop by Geoff Allan, the compiler of this web site, and the memorial is on permanent loan to the Ventnor Heritage Centre for display. |
