LOCAL COMMISSIONS - The London Gazette of last night contains the following:- War Office, April 10th - Volunteer Rifles, 1st Hants: John Coleman Barr, gentleman, to be lieutenant. 3rd Hants : Acting Surgeon Arthur Vernon Ford, from the 4th Volunteer Battalion the Essex Regiment, to be acting surgeon.


Served as a Major with the Royal Army Medical Corps (Territorial Forces). Presumably he was still on the Reserve List when he died, and therefore is considered to be a war casualty.
 
Died in 1918 aged 63.
