Married 4 April 1877, Margaret Harriet Postlethwaite, at St George's Church, Campden-hill, London. Census Information : 1871 : Richard William and Emma Ford, with their children including Arthur aged 6, are at St Thomas Street, Portsmouth. Richard Ford is a Solicitor. 1881 : Arthur and Margaret Ford, with their children, are at Poplar House, Stamshaw Terrace, Portsea, Portsmouth. Arthur Ford is a General Practioner, M.R.C.S. London and L.K.Q.C.P. Ireland. 1891 : Arthur and Margaret Ford, with their children, are at 39, Shaftesbury Road, Portsea, Portsmouth. Arthur Ford is a Physician & Surgeon and Registered Ophthalmic Surgeon. 1901 : not found 1911 : Arthur and Margaret Ford, with some of their children, are at The Hutch, Seaview, Isle of Wight. Arthur Ford is an Ophthalmic Surgeon. Service Information PORTSMOUTH EVENING NEWS 11 APRIL 1885 ... LOCAL COMMISSIONS - The London Gazette of last night contains the following:- War Office, April 10th - Volunteer Rifles, 1st Hants: John Coleman Barr, gentleman, to be lieutenant. 3rd Hants : Acting Surgeon Arthur Vernon Ford, from the 4th Volunteer Battalion the Essex Regiment, to be acting surgeon. Served as a Major with the Royal Army Medical Corps (Territorial Forces). Presumably he was still on the Reserve List when he died, and therefore is considered to be a war casualty.
