Sgt Kettle was a Wireless Operator / Air Gunner serving with 206 Sqn RAF at Aldersgrove in Northern Ireland. The Squadron was equipped with Lockheed Hudson aircraft on anti-submarine and shipping reconnaissances duties. The precise details of Sgt Kettle's death are not known.
