Further Information : On January 20th, 1917, the British steamer SS Bulgarian, on a voyage from Cartagena to Garston with a cargo of iron ore, was sunk by the German submarine U-84 (Walter Roehr), some 50 miles west of the Fastnet. 14 persons were killed. S S Bulgarian wreck site |
