Service details : Stoker K/14944 Albert Edward Colenutt, H.M.S. Aboukir, Royal Navy Albert Edward Colenutt commenced his engagement with the Royal Navy on 29 April 1912 for a period of 12 years. He was described as an assistant to dairyman, 5 ft 6 in tall, with brown hair, grey eyes and a ruddy complexion. He had a wart left side of neck at back. His dates of service in various ships and shore establishments reads :

Fife, of Cove Cottage, and a Ventnor man, A.E. Colenutt, stoker 1st class on the Aboukir, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Colenutt, of Upper Ventnor. Page 4 DEATH COLENUTT. - On 22nd September, lost in H.M.S. Aboukir, in the North Sea, Albert Edward Colenutt, 1st class stoker, dearly-loved eldest son and twin brother to the second daughter of Albert and Mary Colenutt, of Upper Ventnor.
