Saturday, October 3, 1942 Page 3 THE ISLAND AND THE WAR ISLAND ROLL OF HONOUR DIED Lance-Corpl. Alfred Austin Abbott, R.A.C., aged 21, third son of Mr. and Mrs. G. Abbott, of
Tintern, St. John's-road, Wroxall, has died of wounds in the Middle East. He was a chorister at
Wroxall Church. Before joining the Army five years ago he was a brick-layer's apprentice
employed by Messrs. Brading and Blundell, of Shanklin. He has three brothers in the Army.
