The memorial was resited in 1994 following the closure of the Church in 1991 and this is marked by a small brass plaque. See also the Village War memorial plaque. |

THIS TABLET IS ERECTED TO THE MEMORY OF THOSE CONNECTED WITH THIS CHURCH WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR 1914 - 1919 ---- RFN. B.G. BENNETT, WHO DIED A PRISONER OF WAR IN TURKEY, MARCH 28TH, AGED 25 YEARS PTE. H.J. SAUNDERS, WHO DIED OF WOUNDS IN FRANCE APRIL 12TH 1918, AGED 24 YEARS PTE. C. BUCKETT, KILLED IN FRANCE NOV 22ND 1917, AGED 25 YEARS PTE. A.W. STEPHENS, WHO DIED OF WOUNDS IN FRANCE OCT 16TH 1917, AGED 26 YEARS ---- "WE HAVE FOUGHT A GOOD FIGHT, WE HAVE FINISHED OUR COURSE" DECEMBER 1994 THIS MEMORIAL WAS REMOVED FROM THE METHODIST CHURCH NEW ROAD PORCHFIELD WHEN IT CLOSED IN 1991 Further Information
