(LATE COMMANDING H.M. CANADIAN REGIMENT)
WHO DIED AT NEWPORT 25TH FEBRUARY, 1818,
FROM THE EFFECTS OF AN INJURY RECEIVED
WHEN ON SERVICE IN N. AMERICA, AGED 47.

HE WAS EMPLOYED IN THE ACTIVE SERVICE
OF HIS COUNTRY FROM 1793 TO 1815,
THE CAMPAIGN IN HOLLAND
UNDER H.R.H. THE DUKE OF YORK,
THE REDUCTION OF THE WEST INDIA ISLANDS
UNDER SIR RALPH ABERCROMBIE,
FROM 1803 TO THE CLOSE OF THE WAR
IN CANADA, N. AMERICA.

ALSO TO THE MEMORY OF
MARIA CLARA HIS WIFE,
YOUNGEST DAUGHTER OF THE LATE J. CUTHBERT, ESQRE.,
CASTLE HILL, N.B.
WHO DIED AT WEST COWES, MARCH 12TH, 1852
