Son of : William Douse and Ellen Louisa Douse (née Butler), of Brook Cottage, Atherfield, Chale, Isle of Wight.

Born : 1898 Shorwell.

Census information :

1901 : William and Ellen Douse, with their children including William aged 6 and Frederick aged 2, are at Brook Cottage, Shorwell. William Douse is a Shepherd.

1911 : William and Ellen Douse, with their children including William aged 16 and Frederick aged 12, are at Brook Cottage, Shorwell. William Douse is a Shepherd.

Service Details :

Frederick Douse was awarded the British War Medal and Victory Medal, so presumably saw service abroad. He died in hospital of pneumonia.

Frederick Douse's brother William James Douse served with the Army Service Corps (as Pte 039277) in the First World War and is also named on the Shorwell St Peter's Church Roll of Honour WW I

He attested for service on 23 December 1914 and was discharged as not physically fit for war service on 28 July 1916.
