Son of Robert John Grundy and Doris Grundy (née Wheeler). Born 1958, Ryde, Isle of Wight.

Private Peter Stephen Grundy was killed in an IRA bomb attack in Forkhill, South Armagh, Northern Ireland while serving with the 2nd Bn, Parachute Regiment.
 
He is commemorated at Ryde Town Hall on a plaque erected in February 2011.
