Cecil Desmond Leitch, son of Gordon and Mabel A Leitch of Pembroke, Ontario, Canada.
 
P/O Leitch served with 175 Sqn Royal Air Force, based at RAF Holmesley South, equipped with Hawker Typhoon aircraft. His aircraft, Typhoon Mk.Ib MN481, developed engine problems over the Normandy coast, and Leitch was forced to bale out into the English Channel off the Isle of Wight, but he did not survive.
