John Frederick Turner, a prisoner at H.M.P. Parkhurst, was sentenced to 3 years Penal Servitude for Larceny, and died of pneumonia following influenza, aged 33.

He had previously been released on licence for Army service, but deserted soon after, committing the offences which led to his imprisonment.
