Son of : George Burgess and sarah Burgess (née Taylor). Born 1893, Goudhurst, Cranbrook, Kent.
 
Married : Nellie Pink, at St Mary's Church, Brading, Isle of Wight, in 1917. Their daughter Gladys Nellie Burgess was born later in 1917.
