R.N.L.I. ---- In memory of REUBEN COOPER 1822 - 1888. Second Coxswain of the Brook Lifeboat, William Slaney Lewis. Lost overboard in raging seas on March 10th 1888, when going to the rescue of S.V. SIRENIA, bound from San Francisco to Dunkirk, which struck the Atherfield Ledge in thick fog. |
