Friday, November 27, 1914 Page 4 ANOTHER VENTNOR MAN KILLED IN ACTION Information was received yesterday of the death of Trooper Lake, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Lake, of Lemon Villa, Cliff Path, who was killed in action on Nov. 1st. Trooper Lake was only 20 years of age. He was in the 11th Hussars, and before enlisting was employed at Eastman's Limited. Mr. Lake received official intimation of the death of his son from the War Office on Wednesday. Trooper Lake was in action in Mons with the "L" Battery, in which engagement his regiment assisted. He was posted as missing from the 4th September, and was a wanderer over the country for some time. After three weeks he was able to rejoin his troop. - The sincerest sympathy will be extended to Mr. and Mrs. Lake, who are well known and respected in the town, especially in Church circles, Mr. Lake being the superintendent of the Lowtherville Sunday Schools.
