Unknown person Name : Phillip Arthur Whitter

Son of : Philip and Elizabeth Whitter (née Webb), of Shanklin, Isle of Wight. Believed to be known as "Bill" hence the initial "W" for William on the Shanklin War Memorial.

Born : 1923 (registered Cowes sub-district).

The aircraft left RAF Grimsby at 21.00 on Ops to Berlin. All the crew were killed when the aircraft was lost without trace.

Sgt Whitter had lived at 16 Wilton Road, Shanklin, Isle of Wight.
