Ventnor and the War
News has been received that Pte. Harold David Sheppard, of the Hampshire Regiment, has been killed in action. He was the elder son of Mr. and Mrs. David Sheppard, Myrtle Cottage, Albert Street, and he leaves a widow and two children, who live at 4 Albert Street. He was 35 years of age. Before enlistment, Mr. Sheppard was for twelve years employed by Mrs. Combe, The Grange, Bonchurch. For several seasons he played for the Ventnor Athletic F.C.
