Further Information
: Believed to have been an Air Gunner serving in Wellington bombers, and shot down about 1943 over Holland or Germany. The family had lived in Landguard Road, Shanklin until they were bombed out, and lived at Vernon Cottage in the Old Village, Shanklin. His father, Major Edwin Lloyd Ward, M.C. died 5 June 1977. His mother drove ambulances during the war. She died in 1985 aged 88. |
