Funerals of Island Air Raid Victims
... The funeral of Mrs. Annie Adams, wife of Mr. H.J. Adams, another victim of enemy action, took place at a Cemetery on the same afternoon. Civil Defence and W.V.S. personnel, with which deceased was associated, lined the Cemetery entrance. The mourners were Mr. H.J. Adams (husband), Mr. W. Bishopp (father), Mr. W. Bishopp (brother), Miss Elsie Bishopp (sister), Mrs. Bishopp (sister-in-law), Mr. and Mrs. E. Adams (brother-in-law and sister-in-law), and Mrs. W.J. Fairminer. Others present included the Chairman and Clerk of the local Council, representatives of the British Legion, County Council, Musical and Dramatic Society, and a number of personal friends. Wreaths included those sent by the Musical Society and one inscribed "to a loyal and valiant member, from the W.V.S."

ADAMS. - On Jan. 17, Annie Adams, beloved wife of H.J. Adams, Aratrum, Ventnor, aged 54.
