YEOMAN OF SIGNALS FRANK SMITH, son of Mr and Mrs Charles Smith of Apse Heath
joined the Royal Navy as a boy and had seventeen years service to his credit
at the outbreak of War when he was serving on H.M.S. Conquest. He lost his
life as a result of the sinking of the destroyer H.M.S. Partridge by enemy
action off the coast of Norway on 12th December 1917.
