Biographical information
PRIVATE JOSEPH WILLIAM LLOYD MABEY of the Hampshire Regiment, son of
Mr and Mrs John Mabey of Headley House, Branstone, was reported missing
on 23rd March 1918 while serving on the Western Front. He was aged
25 and had been wounded in the arms and spine in the big push of
July 1916 but had returned to service the following November.
He was a scholar of Newchurch School and Sandown Secondary School.
