Biographical information
RIFLEMAN WILLIAM BRINE of Alverstone was one of the many men of the
Parish serving in the Isle of Wight Rifles in World War I and one
of the eight from the Parish who lost their lives whilst serving in
our Island Regiment.
Probable CWGC record ... CWGC records do not show a Rfn W Brine of the Isle of Wight Rifles. Rfn 1807 William Brine was discharged wounded in 1916. The reference above is for William Brine, (born in Wellow in 1885), a Bombardier in the Royal Garrison Artillery. |
