The aircraft took off at 20:55 hrs from RAF West Raynham for Ops on Boulogne but was lost without trace. The crew are commemorated on the Air Forces Memorial at Runnymede. Charles William Cooke was born on 25 April 1914 and the family lived at Westbury, Grange Road, Whippingham, Isle of Wight.
