Further Information

Built in 1889 of natural stone under a tiled roof, Craigie Lodge was designed to a distinctive 'Roman Country Villa' style by local architect Walter Spender. Craigie Lodge, which has barely changed since the turn of the century, has many original architectural and design details, most of which are unique to this residence.

Craigie Lodge is where the writer Mrs. Pearl Mary Teresa Craigie (whose nom-de-plume was John Oliver Hobbes) lived from 1900 to 1906. The House is indicated by a tablet.
