Description

A Memorial to those Members of the National Fire Service killed in the Second World War.

The Fire Station (temporarily located in garage premises at the Gloster Hotel, Landguard Road) was destroyed by enemy action on 3rd January 1943; all but two of those named died on that day.

Originally erected at Victoria Avenue, the memorial is now situated in the Fire Station in Landguard Road.
