The archway and bust were originally located at Ryde County Hospital, and relocated to the Square in 1996. The bust currently on display is a replica, the original being held by St Mary's Hospital, Newport. |

BUILT AND ENDOWED AS THE ISLE OF WIGHT COMMEMORATION OF QUEEN VICTORIA'S DIAMOND JUBILEE "SHE WROUGHT HER PEOPLE LASTING GOOD" ROYAL COUNTY HOSPITAL ARCH RE-SITED IN 1996 THANKS TO SUPPORT FROM SOMERFIELD STORES LIMITED. THE BUST OF QUEEN VICTORIA IS A COPY OF THE ORIGINAL BY E ONSLOW-FORBES R.A. NOW IN THE CARE OF ST MARY'S HOSPITAL. THE REPLICA WAS PRODUCED THANKS TO THE ISLE OF WIGHT HEALTHCARE TRUST, RYDE COMMUNITY FORUM, ISLE OF WIGHT SOCIETY (RYDE GROUP) AND THE ISLE OF WIGHT COUNCIL. Further Information
