Description Fumed oak plaque. Unveiled Sunday 18 May 1947. June 2008 : The Memorial is temporarily in storage pending refurbishment of the Hall. The Ryde Memorial plaque is also now in storage at Newport, and it is believed that a further plaque from the now-demolished Cowes Citadel is also in storage. Memorial not visited by Memorials in Isle of Wight team Information from Isle of Wight County Press 24 May 1947 Status as at Nov 2012 : The Newport plaque has apparently been donated to a relative of one of the men named; the Ryde plaque has not been mounted in the Newport Citadel as yet, and there is no information about a Cowes plaque having existed. |
