Description The Memorial Hall was originally built as a Territorial Drill Hall. The Hall contains a Memorial plaque to officers and men of the Royal Field Artillery, 1st/5th Hants Howitzer Battery (Territorial Forces) This Portland stone plaque was designed and executed by Mr J W Newman of Freshwater, and unveiled in June 1923. In 1930 Flt Lt Ernest Drudge located a gun trail, part of one of the gun carriages, and returned it to Freshwater. In November 2006 the memorial was rededicated in memory of the men who died, and an additional plaque has been erected, which describes the gun trail.
