Location
The Parade, Cowes, Isle of Wight Description Plaques erected to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of H.M. Queen Victoria, in 1897, and H.M. Queen Elizabeth, in 2012. The original marble plaque was erected in 1897 and remained in place until 2005. The restored version of the plaque contained errors and omissions and was quickly eroded by the elements. The enamel plaque was commissioned by the Town Improvements Committee of Cowes Town Council. A third version of the plaque was commissioned in 2012 by Cowes Town Council to complement the plaque erected and unveiled by H.M The Queen on the occasion of her visit during her Diamond Jubilee Year on 25th July 2012. |
