LAKE
The memorial window - placed in the
Church of the Good Shepherd to commemorate
the men of Lake who were killed in the
war was unveiled on Tuesday. Miss Clara
Porter performed the ceremony, following
which the Vicar dedicated the memorial.
The window is a beautiful piece of work; the
subject being "The White Comrade", and
at the bottom is inscribed the text from
Galatians ii 20, "Who loved me and gave
Himself for me". The inscription in brass
beneath the window reads : "To the glory of
God this window is dedicated as a token of
honour and remembrance of worshippers
who from this church served and sacrificed
their lives in the Great War, 1914-1918"
